Strengthening Maritime Education-Industry Synergy: Visit from Surabaya Shipping Polytechnic to Savana Charta Indonesia

Last Friday, Savana Charta Indonesia had the honor of receiving an official visit from the Surabaya Shipping Polytechnic (Poltekpel Surabaya). As a crew manning agency committed to the advancement of Indonesia’s maritime workforce, we are proud to be part of an initiative that bridges the gap between education and industry.

The visit, led by Mr. Aji Amanto, S.SiT., M.M., Head of the Substance Team for Disability and Alumni Affairs at Poltekpel Surabaya, was aimed at initiating strategic collaboration in the recruitment and career placement of their cadet graduates. Through this meeting, Poltekpel conveyed its strong commitment to equipping its alumni with not only technical competencies but also access to global career opportunities in the maritime sector.

At Savana Charta Indonesia, we truly value this proactive approach. The alignment between educational institutions and industry players is essential in ensuring that graduates are not only academically prepared, but also ready to meet the real-world demands of the international shipping industry.

This partnership is expected to pave the way for the strengthening of Indonesia’s maritime human resources, reaffirming the nation’s status as a key global contributor of qualified seafarers. Beyond recruitment, the collaboration also fosters knowledge sharing, skills development, and long-term capacity building.

We warmly welcome this initiative from Poltekpel Surabaya and are optimistic that this collaboration will create lasting positive impacts—not only for their graduates but also for the broader development of the national and global maritime industry.
